The P In Vishvarajn Infra (VIL) PPP

When industries or companies are looked at, there is a feeling of ruthlessness or coldness. It is difficult, to make people understand that companies look for profits, but they also wish the best for its people.

The importance and the need for the fourth P in PPP, should not be underestimated. Arun Lakhani, chairman and managing director of Vishvaraj Infra (VIL) made his views clear on this topic while addressing Water for billion + People.

PPP Is Water Management - Vishvaraj Infrastructure Ltd

https://twitter.com/vishvarajinfra4
It is not a far stretch to state that most government systems have fallen short  to deliver the desired level of service to citizens due to lack of accountability in water management. That is why it is time to look at companies like Vishvaraj Infrastructure Ltd (VIL) who won two major awards in the sector at the recent World Water Leadership Congress & Awards to be given opportunities to play a part.

Simply put, the Government lacks the financial and technical resources to implement complex infrastructure projects. If we have learnt anything from the past is that government systems have failed to deliver desired level of services to the citizens owing to the lack of accountability in the system.

With the PPP module, which VIL India endorses, the company could bring about accountability.  A private entity brings in the investment with a long term commitment for the project ensuring performance and maintenance of required service standards.

The company won the presitigious Water Reuse Project of the Year and Mr Arun Lakhani, VIL’s chairman and managing director won the award for Outstanding Contribution to Water. VIL provides global solutions that contribute to sustainable development in the water sector through innovation in the design, construction and operation of drinking water treatment plants, distribution system reforms, etc.

24x7 Water is Attainable, VIL

Water can be renewed and reused, and if you go by what VishvarajInfrastructure Limited (VIL), a water management firm based in Nagpur is saying then even 24x7 water supply is achievable. This belief comes at a time when low levels of service and waste water mismanagement is being witnessed in many cities of India.

VIL believe that successful continuous water supply is possible. Projects in Nagpur 24X7 and other places have shown results of water being able to reach peoples home continuously.
VIL feels the problem of water shortage is related to water management inefficiencies than water scarcity. According to the company focus should now be concentrated on improving these efficiencies in water usage.

The Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, National Water Development Agency and Central Water Commission have organized India Water Week 2016 to be organised from April 4 to April 8, 2016 on the theme Water for all: Striving together.

Vishvaraj Infrastructure Limited Supports Arundhati, Rasika

http://vilindia.tumblr.com
Realising the importance of social awareness and creating more avenues for sportsman to grow Vishvaraj Infrastructure Limited (VIL) has decided to sponsor the talented city duo of Arundhati Pantawane and Rasika Raje, badminton players, on a long-term basis.

The company is committed to bear the expenses of travelling, lodging and boarding arrangements of both Arundhati and Rasika whenever they play national and international tournaments. VIL was the main sponsor during the state-level tournaments held in Nagpur during the last couple of years.

Such familiarity in the sport is not new as national-level badminton player Sarang Lakhani is the son of chairman and managing director of VIL, Arun Lakhani. In fact, the older Arun Lakhani has been recently co-opted as the member of the Maharashtra Badminton Association (MBA) executive committee.

Vishvaraj Infrastructure provides global solutions that contribute to sustainable development in the water sector through innovation in the design, construction and operation of drinking water treatment plants, distribution system reforms, etc. The Company has executed or in execution projects worth approximately Rs 27,500 million across the three sectors primarily through PPP contracting and few through EPC route.

Vishvaraj Infrastructure Ltd Supports For Private Intervention

http://bundlr.com/u/vishvarajinfrastructure
Recently, at the World Water Leadership Congress & Awards, Vishvaraj Infrastructure Limited (VIL), won two major awards. The company won the presitigious Water Reuse Project of the Year and Mr Arun Lakhani, VIL’s chairman and managing director won the award for Outstanding Contribution to Water.

Does it not make sense for more private companies to be a part of the water industry? Firstly, the level of efficiency in private sector is much better and can be put to use in PPP model for public good. The private sector could be more useful in removing inefficiencies through private intervention and investments are better sourced.

Even the huge risk which can be averted by transferring projects from the government to the private sector. PPPs, like the one with VIL and Veolia Water can also bring new and cost effective technology for creation of infrastructure, managerial efficiency, competency for operation and maintenance and the contractual accountability.

In fact, it is fair to say that all the government systems have fallen short  to deliver the desired level of service to citizens due to lack of accountability. PPPs will automatically bring accountability of the private entity. After all, a private entity brings in the investment with a long term commitment for the project.

WHO Likes What Vishvaraj Infra Is Doing In Nagpur

http://vilindia.tumblr.com
The World Health Organisation, after observing Vishvaraj Infrastructure Limited’s (VIL) massive undertaking in Nagpur to bring about continuous water has been given two thumps for its water quality.

The Nagpur 24X7 project will hope to enable the third largest industry city in Maharashtra to have continuous water. With a citizen base of nearly 2.5 million, the city gets 540 million litres of water per day distributed through 2,100 km of pipeline with about 80% coverage.

Through Orange City Water Ltd, a 50:50 joint venture SPV company, between Vishvaraj Environment Pvt. Ltd and Veolia Water of France, the city’s water supply system is being upgraded to 24/7 supply and water security is being improved.

The Water Quality Partnership for Health programme - a partnership between the Australian government and WHO - has been promoting Water Safety Plans (WSPs) in India. A water quality specialist from Australia visited Nagpur on behalf of WHO and extremely pleased with its progress.

Magadi 24X7, Learning From Nashik

The Earth is filled with nearly 71% of water, yet we can only consume 2% of that water. This mainly lies in the fact that most of this water is filled with saline. Worse, in a country like ours, where we see rapid urbanization, the need for water is even more. The rapidly urbanising Indian population is expected to reach a figure close to 600 million urban people by 2031, leaving a the country to face serious challenges for urban planners.

Indian cities have for long lived with intermittent water supply systems riddled with a variety of problems ranging from high levels of NRW to contamination issues. Vishvaraj Infrastructure Limited (VIL) has understood the importance of such a requirement and are working to provide 24 X 7 water. And with that we go to Magadi.
